Upraised, India's upskilling Ed-tech platform for product management roles, operates in a cohort format—guiding users through Learning, Interviews, and Job placement.


In this project, I got the opportunity to spent a lot of time in the problem space by talking to the users, identified the root cause and built UX driven solution

Upraised's primary offering involves a program experience that aims at learning, practising interviews, and ultimately leading to successful job placements.


Optimising this process is crucial for Upraised's success.

The problem space

Each month, new users join the Upraised 4-month program, and program managers handle their queries and monitor progress.

The process of program management

  1. For every cohort, there are n—number of users which are assigned to program managers

  1. A program manager monitors their progress and solves challenges faced by these users during program

  1. In a day, there might be up to 20 users to manage, each user taking 20 mins, that adds up to roughly 6 hours of calls/day.

This problem is amplified by the fact that the information about the users is scattered across different google sheets and dashboards.

Hypothesis


Addressing scattered information to enhance user visibility could lead to a 25% reduction in counselling efforts.

Working towards the solution

Step I - Listing the info.

This can be solved by working on information architecture and restructuring the datapoints.


I started by taking a note of all the data present and required in the process of counselling the users

Next steps involved bucketing the datapoints into different categories and rank them by affordance.

The Obvious, Easy, and Possible framework provides a foundation for making meaningful IA decisions.

Now looking at the final datapoints, I have picked up the atoms and molecules, and started with the fundamental component.

Let's see an example -

We can make an component for "Modules" and this can be replicated for all the other categories like "Live sessions", "Interviews", etc.

Now this component can be scaled for "Live Sessions" as seen below.

These molecule components acts as an building blocks for the final designs, and kudos! we have built the program dashboard v1.
